Applications for the 2022 BCIA Scholarships are being accepted until Monday, October 31, 2022, at 11:59 PM.

To support future agrologists to achieve their career in agrology, the BC Institute of Agrologists annually awards up to $1500 in scholarships in each of two categories: graduate and undergraduate, respectively.

The B.C. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy has posted a new Director-approved offset protocol to the B.C. Offset Program website: Offset protocols - Province of British Columbia (gov.bc.ca). 

The Methane from Organic Waste Offset Protocol (MOWOP) is now available for use by projects that capture and destroy methane from landfills or from the anaerobic digestion of organic waste.

A mandatory demographics survey was conducted during the 2022 registration fee renewal season and was related to the Professional Governance Act, with the intention to support reporting to the Office of the Superintendant of Professional Governance

75 years ago on June 1, 1947 under the Agrologists Act, BCIA’s Bylaws came into effect. As it is today, the role of the Institute is to protect the public interest by governing the professional conduct of its membership and protecting the province's natural resources. IAF is Delivering a new Program: BC Climate Agri-Solutions Fund (BCCAF), and is looking for Agrologists!

BCCAF provides funding to help farmers tackle climate change by adopting beneficial managing practices (BMPs) in three specific areas: Nitrogen Management, Cover Cropping and Rotational Grazing. BCCAF is funded by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the On-Farm Climate Action Fund.

Applications will be accepted by IAF in June and September of 2022 and 2023.
