A Call for Resolutions to be considered at the BCIA AGM on April 22, 2023 is officially announced.  For more information on Resolutions, review Bylaws 32 – 36.  The submission deadline is 45 days prior to the AGM. UPDATE: no resolutions were received by the deadline.

PRESIDENT'S SPECIAL REPORT to Registrants on Practice Areas and Reserved Practice

As many of you know reserved practice (“Practice Rights”) will come into force for our profession on September 1st of this year, close to one week from today. A primary foundation of those rights are definitions of agrology practice areas which are clear, accountable, and enforceable. This has been done in a document entitled “Practice Areas - A Summary for BCIA Registrants and Applicants.”

2022 BCIA Scholarships: Applications Welcome!

Applications for the 2022 BCIA Scholarships are being accepted until Monday, October 31, 2022, at 11:59 PM.

To support future agrologists to achieve their career in agrology, the BC Institute of Agrologists annually awards up to $1500 in scholarships in each of two categories: graduate and undergraduate, respectively.

75 years ago on June 1, 1947 under the Agrologists Act, BCIA’s Bylaws came into effect. As it is today, the role of the Institute is to protect the public interest by governing the professional conduct of its membership and protecting the province's natural resources. Register for the 75th AGM to learn how BCIA is still doing this today.
